"Matrix mapping system" is not limited to keyboard input. For example, a joystick can be used to select guiding texts or functions. Since the screen usually follows that of the input device, the matrix format is flexible and can be used for a matrix of any rectangular shape. By selecting one element out of a matrix table, the system generates another table of the same size with other contents. This allows convenient, rapid, simple and direct selection from a huge number of alternatives as the matrix tables can be extended indefinitely.
